1 - Scheme Overview

The program consists of evaluating the different analysers dedicated to determining the CO-Oximetry.

Participating labs can choose to be assessed for all the analytes of this scheme, or simply a subset of analytes of interest.

This scheme is not suitable for analyzers EPOC from SIEMENS, i-STAT from ABBOTT, GEM 3000 series from WERFEN and Opti-CCA from OPTIMEDICAL SYSTEM.

For this program, a kit allows to control a single analyzer (Provide a kit by analyzer).

3 - List of Analytes Assessed 

• Total hemoglobin
• Methemoglobin (MetHb)
• Carboxyhemoglobin (COHb)
• Oxyhemoglobin (O2Hb or Fractional saturation of hemoglobin)
• Oxygen saturation (SaO2)

4 - Description of the Control Samples

Liquid control solutions in ampoules (ready-to-use) or freeze-dried (to be resuspended in 1 mL of distilled water).
