1 - Program Overview

The program consists of evaluating the different analysers dedicated to determining the CO-Oximetry.

Participating labs can choose to be assessed for all the analytes of this program, or simply a subset of analytes of interest.

This program is not suitable for analyzers Cobas b123 from ROCHE.

For this program, a kit allows to control a single analyzer (Provide a kit by analyzer).

2 - Assessment Frequency

Number of surveys per year: 4
Number of control samples per survey: 1 or 2
Number of samples per year: 5

3 - List of Analytes Assessed 

• Total hemoglobin
• Methemoglobin (MetHb)
• Carboxyhemoglobin (COHb)
• Oxyhemoglobin (O2Hb or Fractional saturation of hemoglobin)
• Oxygen saturation (SO2)

4 - Description of the Control Samples

Liquid control solutions in ampoules (ready-to-use).

Optional program AVAILABLE ONLY to labs registered for the GDS (Blood Gas with Electrolytes) EQA program.
