1 - Program Overview

EQA program to assess the quantitative determination of glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c).

Since 2011, all the control samples used in this program are determined by an IFCC-certified reference laboratory in order to compare the values obtained with the means for each individual technique and all techniques together for the different surveys. Since 2016, the results and statistics are expressed in % (NGSP unit) and mmol/mol (IFCC unit).

This program is not suitable for analyzers Afinion from ABBOTT, possibility of registering for the Point of care testing program (BD).

4 - Description of the Control Samples

Human control blood in lyophilized form (samples to be resuspended in 0.3 or 0.5 mL of NaCl 0.9%).
