1 - Scheme Overview

EQA scheme to assess the quantitative determination of glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c).

Since 2011, all the control samples used in this scheme are determined by an IFCC-certified reference laboratory in order to compare, at the end of each year, the values obtained with the means for each individual technique and all techniques together for the different investigations. Since 2016, the results and statistics are expressed in % (NGSP unit) and mmol/mol (IFCC unit).

This scheme is not suitable for analyzers Afinion from ABBOTT.

4 - Description of the Control Samples

Human control blood in lyophilized form (samples to be resuspended in 500 µL of NaCl 0.9%).
