This external quality assessment program assesses the different analytical methods used for the phenotypic evaluation of haemoglobin as well as the biological interpretation of the result.

Number of surveys per year: 4
Number of control samples per survey: 1 or 2
Number of samples per year: 6

3 – List of analytes assessed 

• Haemoglobin electrophoretic fractions (haemoglobin A, A2, F, S and other variants)
• Haemoglobin electrophoresis conclusion

4 – Description of the control samples

Lyophilised human control blood (samples to be resuspended in 0.5 mL of distilled water).

5 – Clinical cases

Clinical cases are provided with each sample.
